Business Development Manager, Ad-Media Vertical

BOLDstreet is an industry leading provider of innovative Wi-Fi software and services. Our technology powers some of the largest Wi-Fi networks in North America, including Starbuck’s, Second Cup, multiple major airports, hotels, campuses and health-care facilities in Canada; and a growing network in the USA. Our solutions focus on mobile users; those using smart-phones and related devices to connect to the internet and engage in activities beyond email. We focus on ‘free’ Wi-Fi networks; making them more strategic and valueable, by creating opportunities to build and maintain valueable relationships between users and brands.

We’re successful, innovative, profitable, aggressive and growing. We have a need for a Business Development Manager. This role is specifically focused on the ad-media vertical and, initially, on continuing to own and drive our success in powering Wi-Fi solutions into major networks North America. Our free Wi-Fi network solutions generate revenue from advertising placements and media sponsorships from key brands wanting to promote their products/solutions via Wi-Fi (among other revenue generating strategies). This driven person will be responsible for the full bus dev/sales cycle; from prospecting/cold calling, to qualifying, closing, negotiating, and so on. This person will help define ad/media solutions, product requirements, product packaging and pricing and compete head-on to continue our innovation and success in this vertical. This includes driving ad/media strategies to both traditional laptop devices and emerging mobile devices.

Sales activity will be carried out by phone and face-to-face with qualified leads. The Manager will develop, manage and track the success of partner relationships with ad aggregators (like JiWire) and mobile ad aggregators (like AdMob and Jumptap). The successful candidate will also develop relationships with ad/media agencies who own the relationships with brands that may be interesting in leveraging the unique opportunities available via public Wi-Fi. This will include working directly with brand owners.

Specific qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in results driven ad/media sales and strategy
  • Successful candidates will have experience in managing the full business development cycle
  • Experience selling ad/media solutions to Fortune 1000 companies
  • The successful candidate will be an independent thinker and worker, yet able to work in a technology team environment
  • A solid technical understanding of Wi-Fi networking and public access Wi-Fi solutions is highly desirable
  • Strong written and oral communications are a must; experience in communicating with customers, building and delivering presentations, writing collateral material, and building presentations and project proposals are critical
  • Strong prospecting and cold-calling skills
  • A willingness to travel
  • BA in communications, marketing or a related discipline

This driven person will be responsible for the full bus dev/sales cycle; from prospecting/cold calling, to qualifying, closing, negotiating, and so on. In addition, this person will help define airport solutions, product requirements, product packaging and pricing and compete head-on to continue our innovation and success in this vertical.

Sales activity will be carried out by phone and face-to-face with qualified leads. The representative will also be required to respond to RFP’s/RFI’s. Developing partner relationships where combined efforts will lead to success, is a key element of success for the position.

Specific qualifications include:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in a quota driven technology sales/business development capacity is a must
  • Successful candidates will have experience in managing the full sales cycle
  • Experience selling software solutions to Fortune 1000 companies and/or Regional/National Government organizations is highly desirable
  • The successful candidate will be an independent thinker and worker, yet able to work in a technology team environment
  • A solid technical understanding of Wi-Fi networking and public access Wi-Fi solutions is highly desirable; at a minimum, a software solutions technology sales background with a strong ability to learn
  • Strong written and oral communications are a must; experience in communicating with customers, building and delivering presentations, writing collateral material, and building RFP responses are critical
  • Strong prospecting and cold-calling skills
  • A willingness to travel
  • BA/BS in business, technology or a related discipline

Technical Support Representative

This is a FULL-TIME position

As a specialist in Technical/Support Service, your primary tasks will involve managing the day-to-day operations required to maintain 100% hotspot uptime and ensuring customer satisfaction. This can include:

  • Overseeing BOLDstreet's public network and monitoring systems
  • Contacting hotspot location owners by phone and troubleshooting hotspot problems
  • Performing hardware & software updates and configuration changes
  • Managing the dispatch of technicians to new locations or those requiring repair
  • Responding to inquiries from BOLDstreet's customers and technical partners
  • Documenting procedures
  • Generating reports

Though the position is technical in nature, you can nonetheless expect to be asked for your contribution to just about any task or project related to operations of an entrepreneurial company.

The following are desirable qualifications related to this position:

Required:

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English and French)
  • Good customer management skills
  • Analytical and troubleshooting skills (logic & common sense!)

Network Administrator

This is a FULL-TIME position

As a Network Administrator, your primary tasks will involve managing the day-to-day operations required to maintain 100% hotspot uptime and ensuring a stable and reliable server environment, both in our office and at our data centres. This can include:

  • overseeing BOLDstreet's Canada-wide public network servers and monitoring systems
  • responding to and resolving identified outages on core network and LAN systems
  • building and maintaining new systems that serve the wireless network or make our operations more efficient
  • working with partners to integrate systems
  • performing hardware & software updates and configuration changes
  • researching / testing new wireless technologies and equipment
  • enhancing security and features of the BOLDstreet office network
  • documenting procedures

Our network operates 24/7/365; therefore, carrying an after-hours pager is part of this role. Here are the specific skills you'll need:

  • experience with Ethernet-based networking and/or wireless (Wi-Fi) networks
  • experience with Windows networks
  • experience with Linux, Linux-based tools such as MySQL, RT
  • troubleshooting and/or software testing experience
  • knowledge of SNMP
  • analytical and troubleshooting skills (logic & common sense!)
  • ability to learn new things quickly
